26th September – 10 Days to Go!
With just 10 days to go until the 120th Brailsford & District Ploughing & Hedgecutting Match, preparations are well underway at Sapperton Manor.
Colin, our Trade Stand Secretary, along with Charlotte, Andy and Bill, were on site pegging out the plots ready for this year’s trade stands.
The day started misty and damp, but it soon cleared to reveal a glorious bright day, with the skylarks singing overhead as the team got to work.
With a good plan in place, the pegs seemed to be flying in – although, when we say flying in, the ground was still showing a fair bit of resistance!
After several hours, a bit of juggling, moving a few pegs, stapling plenty of plot cards and, of course, a couple of well-earned cups of tea, the job was done.
Another important Match Day job ticked off the list as we count down to Wednesday 7th October!
