AGM 2026

An Evening of Mixed Emotions and Change

Bill Slater passing ‘gavel of office’ to new Chairman Mark Adams

The evening began with the retirement of our Chairman, Bill Slater, after his two-year term in office. It is now time to hand over the gavel of office into the very capable hands of former Vice Chairman, Mr Mark Adams. The role of Vice Chairman now passes to former Junior Vice Chairman, Mr Gary Marsh.

Mr Alan Mosedale new Junior Vice Chairman

At this point, we would also like to welcome Mr Alan Mosedale to the role of Junior Vice Chairman. Alan is a long-standing member of the committee and a very active member of the society.

Mr Roger Brown welcoming new treasurer Susan White

We now come to Mr Roger Brown, our highly respected Treasurer, who, after serving in the role since 1990, has decided to hang up his abacus. Roger has done a fantastic job of balancing the books and ensuring the society is as financially secure as it is today. A great deal of time and effort has gone into selecting a new Treasurer, and the society is pleased to welcome Mrs Susan White to the role.

Mr Roger Brown receiving his Special Service Award

The society is grateful for all of the hard work Roger has contributed, and as a token of the committee’s appreciation, the outgoing Chairman presented him with the Special Service Award.

The evening also saw the creation of a new post of Website Coordinator, which has been taken on by former Chairman Bill Slater.

A very enjoyable evening was had by all. After the close of the meeting, a buffet was laid on by The Royal Oak, giving the evening a more relaxed feel, where conversation soon turned to the coming year.
